At the young age of 17, I knew I would some day be in the furniture business. I am fortunate that at an early age I found something I loved doing and now I feel like I haven't worked a day since. Throughout my life I have always enjoyed working one on one with customers. After earning my marketing degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1974, I took a position as a Maytag representative, responsible for wholesale marketing of appliances covering areas in the United States and Canada. I tired of the corporate moves and finally knew in 1977 it was time to open my first Bruce Furniture store in Alliance, NE. Since then we have stores in Hastings, Holdrege and Kearney, NE and I was fortunate enough to welcome my son Michael to the team in 2000.
I believe the customer is the boss! Our goal is to meet each customer's needs individually. It is our priority to establish quality relationships and make the shopping experience easy and enjoyable.
After almost 29 years, Bruce Furniture has the buying power to compete with the big chains, while maintaining the small town philosophy of taking care of the customer. If we don't have the piece of furniture you want in our store, we can get it. We want to make you happy!

Relax, Bruce Furniture offers you an in-home trial period before you make your purchase. We will deliver your sofa, lamp or even wall décor so you can make sure it looks as good in your home as it does in our showroom. What do I do with the furniture I'm replacing? We will haul off your old furniture for disposal or take it to auction, whatever you request! We will even take it to a friend or relative in town. If you choose to auction your furniture, we will file all necessary paperwork. Bruce Furniture eliminates the clutter of old furniture with Just the Right Help For You!

Design Services
Meet Our Designer, Dee Dee Bennett
Dee Dee Bennett is an Allied member of American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) and is the Interior Designer with Bruce Furniture. Dee Dee attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and was in the Interior of Architecture program for 3 semesters before transferring to Kearney. While in Lincoln she worked for Paul Daniels Interiors assisting the Interior Design staff. Dee Dee graduated in 2007 from the University of Nebraska-Kearney with a bachelor’s degree in Interior Design. She has worked at Bruce Furniture for 3 years.

Delivery Policies
We have a team of professional delivery persons trained to carefully get your new purchase in your home on time so you can enjoy. They will fully assemble and move your items so they are just where you want them. Need an old piece taken downstairs or disposed of? No problem, we can do it. Would you like that recliner that is too good to throw away, taken to the auction or donated to a local charity? We'd be happy to do that as well and take care of the paperwork.
We strive for excellence, but we realize that once in a while we do fall short. If for any reason your merchandise is not correct, or damaged, or not assembled correctly, or you are just not happy, please call and make us aware so we can take care of it now!
