Design Tips By Dee Dee
After you have purchased the furniture needed for the room(s), you are now ready to accessorize. Think of them as the "frosting" on the cake. Accessories finish the room by tying all of the elements together. They make your house feel like a home. Many things can be used, such as photographs, books, artwork, rugs, pottery, flowers, candles, baskets, vases, etc. The accessories you choose should be a reflection of your personality and your interests. How you put them together defines your style. Here are a few tips to get you started in the right direction. Keep it simple. If you are not sure of the direction or style you want to go, choose just a few pieces that have a big impact. You can always add to them. If you have neutral walls and flooring, use colorful accessories as accents. A beautiful rug could be starting point. Then other items can be chosen to contrast and compliment the colors in the rug. Whether your room is formal, casual, contemporary, or eclectic, accessories can be used to pull it all together.
So have fun and be creative! Bruce Furniture wants to be your home furnishings store. We have a great selection of furniture and accessories. Our intention is to help you create the home of your dreams, one room at a time.
